ddvx - I am also interested in photos of the old nissen huts in Maghull. We were there prior to boarding a troopship from Liverpool to Cyprus in 1954. I think we must have been there 4 or 5 months, as I remember a summer holiday there, and also the biggest bonfire we ever participated in building for Guy Fawkes

Does anybody have photos or memories of No2 Military Families Hostel which was at Maghull. We spent several months there during 1959 between my parents vacating married quarters at Warminster and getting a new married quarter in Chester. The camp was old metal Nissan Huts with no hot water and a centralised bath house.

I was at Whittington Barracks Army School from 52 - 55 - You can read about my antics in my book Ricky - The Early Years! Arrested three times by the Provost Staff/RMP by the time I was seven! Any else from Lichfield in the early 50s?
